Mini Antigone Scene And First Thoughts On Greek Theatre

I think that this performance went well, I feel that I accurately portrayed Creon to be an overall weak king, feeling the need to shout and be aggressive towards Antigone to remain the most powerful in the scene. I think there was an appropriate use of levels in the scene as Creon begins the scene above Antigone but in the end, he is on the floor directly next to her and is trying to be aggressive and threatening by getting in Antigone's face. This alongside the natural height difference between me and Melissa, shows how Antigone has the moral high ground as she is the one carrying out the will of the gods and is willing to sacrifice herself to preserve it.

However, to improve on my performance I feel I could have added a build up in Creon's emotion. I think that I portrayed as too explosive from the beginning and showed no real rise in his emotion, I think I could have done this by changing Creon's posture throughout and had more of a steady change in pitch, pacing and diction of his lines to show his growing anger towards Antigone.

My First Impressions On Greek Theatre

I am really enjoying working on Greek Theatre, I love how many of the stories are woven into legends and how they all have many different moral conundrums which make playing certain characters even more interesting as you have quite a range that often doesn't make one character one hundred percent good or the other one percent evil.
